Wind energy table
The wind is free, until the government manages to put a tax on it, for this reason many people think it a bargain, well if that was the case we would see windmills everywhere. There is no such things as "a free lunch".
Every source of power has an environmental prices. Wind and solar is "clean" and renewable, but it does have some downsides.
Noise
The main kind of noise you can have are:
- blade noise, this is rarely a problem as it sounds similar to wind in trees or flowing streams and is often masked out by these sounds.
- mechanical noise, this can happened if there is a vibration or mum from the generator, stags or gearbox. This noise can drive people crazy, especially if they are kept awake. I personally enjoy this sound, it means the windmill is working and producing power.
Visual
Where people complain is the visual intrusion. My impression of the wind mill is a sleek dream and money making machine, for my neighbors it is an eyesore.
