Wind data

This page shows the average wind information, I am interested in the wind for two reasons, how much wind do we get and how can I use this to my advantage for creating electricity and to cool the house.

Wind is very specific to the location, when we bought the land, we looked at the contours to create the max wind run based upon direction and strength.

I yet have to decide which way I go, I have council approval for a 5Kwh wind turbine, which will be sitting on a 25 meter (or higher) high mast. Time will tell, I will test the setup for at least one year to get the seasons, and as more and more houses are build in the area the wind run might change.
